SHAWN, THE VISIONARY OF SKOOTS IN THE KOOTS
Shawn believes every day is a new day—especially when you're on two wheels. As the instructor at Skoots in the Koots, he’s here to teach, challenge, and maybe even crack a joke at your expense (all in good fun, of course). With years of riding experience and a few battle scars to prove it, he knows that learning to ride isn’t just about skill—it’s about mindset, confidence, knowledge and being prepared for the unexpected.
For Shawn, motorcycles aren’t just a passion; they’re the best excuse to explore, push limits, and swap stories around the fire after a long day on the trails. After years of adventure riding across five continents and 35 countries, Shawn wanted to create something that combined his passion for motorcycles with his love of teaching. That’s how Skoots in the Koots came to life—a place where riders of all levels can challenge themselves, develop real-world skills, and build confidence in a supportive, team-driven atmosphere.
WORLDWIDE ADVENTURES
Shawn and his riding partner, Becky, have taken their passion for motorcycles far beyond familiar trails. With 35 countries under their belts, they've explored North America, Europe, Australia, Southeast Asia, South America, and Central America, experiencing the raw beauty of the world. From remote dirt tracks to winding mountain roads, their journey is a testament to the freedom, challenge, and unforgettable moments that come with adventure riding.
As Shawn always says, “Every day is a new day”—and on two wheels, that means endless possibilities.
No Regrets, Only Miles
Looking back, the only thing I regret is not doing it sooner. Life is short, and waiting for the “right time” is a trap. There’s no perfect moment to chase your dreams—you just have to go.
So if you’re sitting at your desk, staring at a screen, and dreaming of the open road, ask yourself: What’s really stopping you? Because in the end, the things we own and the jobs we hold don’t define us. The experiences we seek, the roads we take, and the people we share them with—that’s what truly matters.
We quit our jobs, got on two motorcycles, and never looked back. And honestly? It was the best decision we ever made.
Two Bikes, One Journey
Riding together but on separate motorcycles gave us the freedom to experience the journey in our own way while still sharing it as a team. There’s something powerful about carving through a mountain pass beside your partner, completely in sync with the road, the ride, and the adventure.
Of course, it wasn’t always easy. There were breakdowns, wrong turns, brutal weather, and days when exhaustion tested our patience. But those challenges were part of the experience, teaching us resilience, adaptability, and just how much we could rely on each other.
